There is the cutest cross stitch story in this month's Martha Stewart Living magazine!
It's about creating a family portrait using graph paper and counted cross stitch material, and is geared toward being easy enough for children. I did cross stitch for Christmas presents when I was a kid and it was pretty easy so I think this would be a great idea for a family project.
I just love seeing my favorite craft featured in one of my favorite magazines!
