Bouquet
Dahlias.
Another flower I used to hate, but now love. You are probably thinking- how can a person hate flowers? I'm not really sure but I think I was just a picky kid or something. I still hate geraniums, not only do I think they are ugly but the smell makes me want to punch someone in the face. Seriously.
On a lighter note, if you are ever in the Portland, Oregon area in August, you should check out the Swan Island Dahlia Farm- just acres and acres of beautiful flowers. I could wander around there for about 5 hours just taking pictures and marveling at nature.

{White Tulips}
This was one of those weeks when none of the flowers I saw at the store appealed to me, then I saw these shoved behind a bunch of other bouquets and they were perfect.
Bouquet
For whatever reason I just couldn't seem to get to the store this week in order to buy my usual bouquet to share with you. The "universe" sent me some flowers in the form of this painting I saw the other day, so you get this instead! Back to real ones next week.

Peonies
I've been dying of jealousy looking at all the delicious peony photos over on Oh Happy Day!, and have been trying to wait patiently for the day they show up here. When I rolled up to Trader Joe's yesterday there they were- waiting for me! I am oh so happy.

This week's bouquet.
More ranunculus but deep red this time. Reminiscent of roses, but not half as predictable.
Bouquet
This week's bouquet is.... Hydrangeas!
I love me some hydrangeas. Even though I usually mistakenly call them lilacs. They are so pretty that it almost hurts to look at them don't you think? I chose a vintage rectangular milk glass vase for this arrangement, it's been good to go through all my different vases and figure out which ones I really use and need. I had some fun playing around with different camera filters on my phone with these. The first photo is very soft and romantic, the second is all dusty and dry, very Miss Havisham. Still romantic though!
Bouquet, Part 2
Some of my carnations from this week's bouquet had bit the dust while others were still thriving.
I sized down the arrangement to fit in a cute little creamer jug and it's perfect for brightening up that dark spot or corner in your house.
Bouquet
I decided to use this milk glass pedestal vase to house the carnations in, I thought the
old fashioned-ness suited them very well. Enjoy this week's bouquet!

Haven't you always wanted to be that person who buys fresh flowers every week and places them dramatically about their home? I have. I think I may give it a try for a while!
Ranunculus are my second favorite flower and I got these for a song at T Joe's.
I arranged them in a cut glass crystal vase that I bought at a garage sale in Bandon, Oregon years ago. I remember trying to decide between a cute vintage purse and this vase. You have to understand that at the time I was way more into fashion than I was into home decor. But my future self reached back across time and whispered "Get the vase, you won't regret it". Future self was right! I love it and use it quite a bit. It goes well with every kind of flower.
