Beauty Review- L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes

Remember when I used to exclusively do beauty reviews on this blog?  Isn't that hilarious?  I can't remember the last time I did one, maybe in September.  It's not that I don't love makeup anymore, it's just that since I started this blog 5 years ago, I have become interested in so many more things, including design and crafts and food, than I was at the time.  Anyway, I was all excited to try this new mascara and write a glowing review, but my plans are all thwarted because it SUCKS.  Like, a lot.
I normally use the L'oreal Voluminous Full Definition mascara and I love, love, love it.  I have been using it for about 8 years, and no matter what other mascara I buy, I always end up going back to that one.  It makes your lashes long and defined and it never flakes.  I use the waterproof version on all my bridal clients so it won't run when they cry and I have never gotten one complaint.
So when I saw the commercial for the L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara I was ultra excited!  It has one of those nubby plastic brushes that I love, and it has a special plastic thingy that pulls off all the extra mascara when you remove the wand from the package.  I think that is a great idea because I usually end up taking off some of the product with a tissue when I use mascara anyway, it helps to not make your lashes clumpy and saves you from getting anything on the eyelids as you apply.  To cut to the chase, I got the mascara and used it.  The container ends up taking off a lot of the product, so much so that I applied it twice just to try and make my lashes look thicker.  It didn't really do much.  I could see product on my lashes but it just made them look all thin and spidery, not full and beautiful.  No biggie, I thought and just got on with my day.  Well, a few hours later, I look in a mirror and what do I see?  MAJOR FLAKAGE.  Not cool, L'oreal, not cool.  Oh, and it smells really weird too. Like dead flowers.
In conclusion, I will not be using this product again, and have once again returned to the arms of my one true love, L'oreal Voluminous Full Definition Mascara.  0 out of 5 stars.
