Last night, I was a makeup artist for the Visage fashion show. Visage is a fancy eyeglasses store in the Pearl, and they hosted a show for four local designers. The lovely ladies from Capporicci Sweet did the hair, and I was part of the makeup team. Three hectic hours of throwing makeup on thirty local Portland models and friends of the designers. We were supposed to be doing a different look for each designer, but since they were all using the same models, and there was no time between showings, that was a little impossible. Plus, the models kept wanting me to put on more color, so I ended up just doing whatever, and it turned out fine. Basically, I did a lot of browns and gold and shimmer. A couple of the girls really inspired me, one girl got to have a silver and black smoky eye with huge fake eyelashes, and the other girl (the cutest model at the show, model crush!) told me she was wearing green, so I did a really beautiful green eye and sweet pink lip with lots of blush. Everyone seemed to like the makeup, and they all looked great strutting their stuff on the runway. It was really fun, but exhausting. I had started the day by getting up at six in the morning to do makeup for a bridal party at 8. Then I had to work at the shoe store until 4, when I had to rush over to do the fashion show. Luckily, my beautiful friend Sarah was there to take me out after for lemon drops and dish gossip about the models. It was super fun. Also, there is a new makeup store out in Beavertron called Ulta. Sarah went there yesterday, and she said it is amazing. She got me this great fall must haves palette from the Ulta line, it has 6 glosses, 6 shadows, a blush and a bronzer, lipliner, eyeliner, and a gloss. Genius!
Anyway, it was an amazing makeup filled day, I feel like I am really getting some experience, and it made me so excited to start makeup school (in just two short weeks!).
